Skim or strip? The honest answer matters
A skim is only as good as what’s underneath. Sound walls take a two-coat skim beautifully; failing plaster has to come off first or the new surface fails with it. We press, tap and check before we quote — and tell you plainly which walls need which. It’s the difference between a finish that lasts decades and one that cracks within the year.
The process, start to finish
Floors sheeted and sockets masked, surfaces prepared and primed for the right suction, then a two-coat skim trowelled up to a smooth, hard finish. Most rooms are done in a day. Fresh plaster dries to pale pink in five to seven days, and we leave you simple instructions for that first mist coat so the decorating goes as well as the plastering.
