Why the boarding stage matters most
The skim coat is a few millimetres thick — it follows whatever sits beneath it. Boards out of line, proud joints or the wrong board in a wet room all telegraph through as cracks, shadows and bubbling paint later. We set out boarding carefully because it’s the stage that decides the final wall.
